Dan Gale - based out of the Mid-South area of the U.S, is a multi-instrumentalist that has been playing and performing since his teenage years. If you ask him about his personal style, he'll say "It's eclectic, but mostly focused around hard rock with a tech feel to it". He has been influenced since his youth by bands like Rush, King Crimson, The Police, Megadeth, and many others. Very recently, he's been inspired by the music and universe of the Splatoon video game series, created by Nintendo. "You can tell that they're very passionate about not just the music in general, but how it fits in the world they've created", says Dan. Two of the songs he's released are written in one of the game's native languages, called "Inklish", and "performed" by an original character from the game universe itself, an inkling girl named "Inkerbelle". Dan states that "...I wanted to create music that would feel at home in the game".
Being a multi-instrumentalist, he is featured performing every instrument and vocal track on his debut solo album, DOES NOT PLAY WELL WITH OTHERS, a title he thought was appropriate.
His second album released on August 24th, 2024, and is entitled FIP THE TRITE LANTASTIC. This album features 8 new tracks, and covers a bit more genre ground, including the acoustic track "Facet", and the electronically-charged "Skin Hunger". In a discussion about the album, Gale stated that "...I wanted to show more musical flexibility, while still creating songs that are enjoyable and worthwhile.."
Both albums, DOES NOT PLAY WELL WITH OTHERS and FIP THE TRITE LANTASTIC are now available on all major streaming services.
